THRIVE is an AIWA-SF April project dedicated to highlighting Armenians who are doing amazing things in their personal and professional lives to better themselves and those around them. These individuals are inspiring, dynamic, innovative and interesting. Today we feature Jill Simonian.
Name: Jill Simonian, Television Host/Personality, Author & Founder of TheFABMom.com
Known on-air and online as ‘The FAB Mom,’ Jill Simonian is a television host, parenting lifestyle contributor and author of the book for first-time pregnancy The FAB Mom’s Guide: How to Get Over the Bump & Bounce Back Fast After Baby
. From 2016-18, Jill delivered over 175 parenting segments on KCBS-2 & KCAL-9 Los Angeles News discussing today’s most controversial family topics. She’s appeared on NBC’s TODAY Show
& Access Hollywood LIVE,
CBS’ The Doctors,
Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family
, HLN’s Michaela
and more and writes a monthly column in her hometown newspaper, The Fresno Bee
Jill shares some of her life perspective, for staying ‘Focused After Babies’ (FAB) with AIWA-SF: The phrase that kicks me into getting motivated, when I feel like I might not be equipped or ‘good enough’ to do something, is “Stupider people than me have done this… so I can too.” I’ve used this silly philosophy as serious motivation to tackle career goals (television work, creating my website/brand, writing my book) and also apply it to regular family life (raising two daughters while handling today’s modern motherhood stressors). As an American-Armenian, I’ve also always felt a positive push to put myself out there and try my best, even if things don’t shake out the way I might plan… my great-grandparents came here for freedom and success, so it’s up to me (and all of us, in our own families) to live in a way that honors everything they were forced to overcome.
The Armenian International Women’s Association is a dynamic global 501(c)3 dedicated to empowerment, education and enrichment. Through many projects and initiatives, AIWA is dedicated to inspiring, empowering and connecting Armenian women worldwide.
