AIWA Scholar Interns at Teach for Armenia

For several years, AIWA-SF has funded college level scholarship to students in Armenia and has required a internship to establish a program that incorporates academic excellence with hands-on work experience.  In 2018, this initiative expanded to include AIWA-International. One of our many scholars is currently interning at Teach for Armenia a strong AIWA-SF partner.

Sona Avagyan, a 2018 AIWA-International, scholarship recipient shares her experience with us below.

Teach for Armenia is a great place for me to get my internship as long as I feel that I could learn a lot about marketing and organization’s work in real life. Now I am engaged in the Public Affairs team which consists of four people. I and my supervisor Narek Ghazaryan are working in a special project called “Armenia Virtual Learning Pilot”. This project is indeed an online course which is aimed to share Teach for Armenia’s experience about their Placement, Development and Branding strategies. The goal of this course is to tell other partners and organizations about the strategies that Teach For Armenia have used, so that this experience would be helpful for partners to apply in their context and be successful in their local market. Now we have already started working on the project and hopefully by the end of August we will have a ready Virtual Learning Pilot.

Sona, we are so proud of you and this positive experience. We look forward to being a part of your bright future. Thank you to our partner Teach for Armenia and to all our donors who make this project possible. Thank you!
