AIWA-SF Thrive: Arootin Ghazarian

THRIVE is an AIWA-SF April project dedicated to highlighting Armenians who are doing amazing things in their personal and professional lives to better themselves and those around them. These individuals are inspiring, dynamic, innovative and interesting. Today, we feature Arootin Ghazarian.

Arootin Ghazarian, Mechanical Engineer.

IMG_5873Arootin has a passion for collaboration and community. His move in 2013 from LA to the Bay Area has strengthened his appreciation for community. Growing up inspired by Armenian innovators & the selfless acts by individuals to revive the lives of Armenians back home is what drives his enthusiasm for Armenia’s future in tech. Arootin along with members of the Cilician Warriors Group founded kamourj.com, the programs mission is to connect tech founders from Armenia with host families in Silicon Valley & professionals to collaborate on the success of these future leaders.

Arootin works at Integral Group, the leading global sustainable building design firm. Shaping the building environment with sustainability in mind is how Arootin does his part with one of the greatest challenges facing humanity. Arootin has collaborated on the design of tech office buildings, Wholefoods, higher education & the mechanical system upgrade master plan for Stanfords Main Quad. Outside of work and Kamourj, you can find Arootin crafting creative food.

Question: What is your life philosophy?

Play the hand you were dealt like it was the hand you wanted.

Question: What is your hope for the future?

For the current Armenian generation making the sacrifices necessary to build our global nation.

Question: What is your favorite thing about being Armenian?

Our ingenuity, creativity & warmth.

Question: How has the Armenian culture shaped / influenced you?

Our selflessness and belief that anything is possible if we work together gives me the strength that I to can make an impact for our people and ultimately the world.
