AIWA-SF Luxury Wine Tasting Event

Saturday December 5, AIWA-SF held a Luxury Wine Tasting event at the Treasury Wine Estates in Napa, CA.  Limited to 50 attendees, guests had the opportunity to taste exceptional wines from Treasury Wine Estates Luxury Portfolio, including Penfolds RWT, Bins 389 & 407, Stags’ Leap, Beringer Private Reserve, Etude, Chateau St. Jean and St. Clement. With a diverse group of attendees, the sold out fundraiser allowed space for AIWA-SF members, friends and supporters to toast the many blessings of 2015 and welcome 2016. All profits from the event will go directly towards the funding of AIWA-SF initiatives.

Susanna Cogswell, an employee of Treasury Wine Estates and AIWA-SF Board Member says, “During the holidays we all like to come together with family and friends to celebrate our achievements and toast to the future, but what makes this gathering special is that everyone who attended our wine event, shares a one profound passion: to do good in the world and impact lives.”  Drew Casey of Treasury Wine Estates, was ecstatic at how properly attended the fundraiser was and how elegantly new palates took to the luxury wines from the TWE portfolio.

Christine Soussa, AIWA-SF President shares “2015 was a foundational year for AIWA-SF, with new leadership at the helm and expanded partnerships, 2015 served as a launch pad year. We continue to focus our initiatives in the areas of Education, Women’s Health, and Professional development. We are looking forward to our positive impact both in the short and long term of those who we reach locally and in Armenia. It was wonderful to bring some of the community together for an intimate toast.”

Sophia Moradian, AIWA-SF Vice-President stated, “I love the diversity of attendees that came out to support our organization and to enjoy great wines and good company. Having such an enthusiastic group really made the event memorable.”

The final toast came with a distinctive tasting of different vintages of Penfolds crown jewels: The Penfolds Grange and Bin 707 was shared among the group.  Drew shares, “this is a wine that people may have heard and know about, but seldom experience in a lifetime.”   It was an honor and huge treat to be able to learn about these world renowned wines and toast the Happy New Year.

The next AIWA-SF event will be a charity shopping day on December 19th at Bloomingdale’s in San Francisco.   Bloomingdale’s San Francisco will donate 10% of tracked sales to AIWA-SF.  All are invited and event details can be found on the AIWA-SF website.
