EVENT: PANEL – Shaping the Next Generation of Future Leaders The Armenian International Women’s Association San Francisco Affiliate (AIWA-SF) invites you to PicsArt Headquarters 351 California Street, Mezzanine, San Francisco CA 94104 on Thursday June 9, 2016 @ 6:00pm for a panel discussion entitled “Shaping the Next Generation of Leaders”. You can RSVP here!

The panel will focus on the roles of leadership, technology, business and community engagement in the modern economy. Doors will be open to all guests until we reach capacity. RSVP is not required but recommended. Heavy appetizers and beverages will be provided. The event is complimentary, donations to AIWA-SF are welcomed.

Distinguished leaders will share their insights and experiences across varied industries. Our panelist include:

Nina joined Cota Capital in 2015 as Principal. She is responsible for evaluating and sourcing private side deals and helping drive investment decisions. Prior to joining Cota, Nina held a Financial Analyst position at Google, where she was responsible for a $1.8 billion business. She worked on key strategic monetization deals with eCommerce and Search partners, including landmark deals with IAC, eBay and Amazon. Nina started her career as a High Yield bond trader at Citigroup, later transitioning to Emerging Market Credit. She has vast international experience, including London, New York, San Francisco, Dubai, and Istanbul. Nina also founded HIVE, a seed fund which invests in Armenian entrepreneurs. Nina received her BA in Government from Harvard University, and was one of six recipients of the Michael C. Rockefeller Fellowship.

Argam is a product and technology leader with vast experience in building innovative products. As the VP Product at PicsArt, he defines and executes product strategy for PicsArt, ranked 5th hottest startup of 2015 by Forbes. PicsArt is the fastest growing community of creatives and creative images, enabling anyone with a mobile device to use its suite of creatives tools to create, co-create, share, discover, socialize, learn and be inspired. Prior to PicsArt, Argam was the VP Product at Vevo. Argam received a B.A. in Political Science from UC Berkeley and a J.D. in Law and Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University School of Law.

Daniel MarshalDan Marshall,  SVP Worldwide Sales at Elemental Technologies

Dan brings more than 25 years of experience building and driving sales and service in the enterprise storage, media and broadcast markets to his role at Elemental. As senior vice president of worldwide field operations, he develops and directs the company’s worldwide sales and service strategy and is responsible for a global sales and service team. Prior to joining Elemental, Dan managed sales, marketing and service divisions at companies working directly with enterprise IT organizations in the broadcast, storage, and SAAS markets. In his most recent role as head of sales at Omneon Inc., Dan helped the company establish a global footprint and achieve profitability two years ahead of schedule. Prior to his work at Omneon,Dan held executive sales positions at MTI Corporation and Mylex Corporation. He also co-founded and served in an executive role at Storageway. He is on the board of directors of Multimek, Inc. and earned a B.S. in business administration and economics from San Jose State University. Dan is also an accomplished guitarist, a passion he continues to pursue in him free time.

AlexAlex Saghatelian,  Senior Director Pricing & Product Strategy at Cisco

Alex is the Senior Director Pricing and Product Strategy at Cisco where he leads the Cisco wide financial plan and pricing strategy to drive software and cloud business growth. Over his 8 year tenure at Cisco, Alex has taken on transformative pricing leadership roles to drive cross-functional business impact from strategy to execution. In the last few years, Alex has expanded his charter to lead Cisco’s software transformation for Finance. Prior to joining Cisco, Alex spent his career in management consulting with large and boutique consulting firms, including 4 years with Accenture. As a consultant, he led strategic and operational initiatives across Fortune 500 companies in the Financial Services and Technology industries. Alex earned his BA in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara and his MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business, graduating from both universities with highest honors.

FA Headshot 2Dr. Francois Antounian, MD at Kaiser Permanente Health Care, Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Antounian specializes in orthopedic surgery at Kaiser Permanente. He received his MD from the American University of Beirut and completed his residencies at the University of Rochester and Case Western-Reserve University. Dr. Antounian practiced in San Francisco starting July 1980. He moved to the Boston Area in December 2004 for a teaching sabbatical at The Cambridge Hospital, affiliated with the Harvard Medical School where he was involved in orthopedic research projects and taught medical students, interns and residents. Despite the intellectual stimulation of the environment, he and his wife missed Northern California greatly. So, after they returned to the Bay Area, Dr. Antounian joined the Orthopedic Surgery department at Kaiser Permanente San Rafael in October 2005. Dr. Antounian is a founding member of BAFA and the Armenian professional society of the Bay Area. He first visited Armenia in 1989 as part of the earthquake relief effort and has since undertaken several projects in Armenia, including working with Erebouni Hospital to train orthopedic surgeons, equip the hospital, and establish an orthopedic department.

rick moradianRick Moradian,  President and CEO at DTC Logistics – WineShipping

Rick is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the field of global logistics and supply chain management. He is currently the CEO and President of DTC Logistics, the largest provider of direct to consumer wine fulfillment services in North America. Prior to DTC, he was the CEO of Ace Expediters, Sumitomo Logistics and APL Logistics. Rick received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Sacramento and is currently pursuing his Masters in Business Administration from Oxford University. Rick and Wendi are the proud parents of three daughters, Sophia, Julia and Lucia.

Karén brings 20+ years of well-rounded experience in the high-tech industry, Big Four, government and small business.  

Karén is Director of Strategic Partnerships at Yahoo! Inc. He developed and leads the unparalleled Business Incentives program at Yahoo, a high-impact aspect of the business. Shaped by Karén’s diverse perspective and vision, the program is a convergence point for multiple disciplines: strategy, broad collaboration, deal structuring and negotiations, educational partnerships, finance and tax, economic development, government affairs and public relations. He is a key player in the Yahoo global data center strategy, construction and operations team.

Karén is a status-quo challenger. Embracing uncertainty, he unveils new opportunities and creates strategic value. Karén derives energy and meaning from entering uncharted territories and paving new roads. His distinct characteristics are the ability to innovatively connect dots into an overarching perspective, and unorthodox approach to and style of executing on business objectives.

Karén has diverse educational background in economics and math modeling, accounting and analysis, strategic decision and risk management from the top universities of Armenia, Russia and USA. He is a California licensed CPA (Certified Public Accountant).

Karén dedicates significant time to teen well-being and education causes as an executive board member of a San Francisco based non-profit organization. Concurrently, he is an advisor and mentor to young start-up entrepreneurs. Karén is a speaker at conferences and other public events.
